There is limited off road parking at Wetton Mill close to the bridge. Parking over the bridge at the shop/ refreshment area is strictly for the use of customers using the facilities.

Accessible toilet facilities are available at Hulme End Visitor Centre (map ref. SK 103593) and also at Wetton (map ref. SK 108552).

Wetton Mill to Waterhouses - distance 5½ miles

The first 800 yards of the track is on road, which is usually fairly quiet, but take care! The track is mainly smooth tarmac but uneven in places. At about ¾ of a mile you will pass Thors Cave high upon the hillside, before reaching a small car park which is accessed from a minor road. There is a gate at each end of the car park. Take care when crossing the road at the far end. See picture opposite.

Once across the road the track splits into two, the tracks running side by side. Keep to the right hand track as the other leads to a small camping site.

4 miles from Wetton Mill is a Tea Room and Garden (signposted) which is reached by a tarmac incline, approximately 50 yards in length (Pic 1 below). There is a grassed area with several picnic tables and a kiosk where an assortment of food and drinks are available (Pic.2 below).

Back on the track, it is now just less than 1½ miles to the end of the track at Waterhouses.

The Manifold track can be accessed at Waterhouses, from Brown End Farm which has direct access onto the track. You may only park here if you are taking out cycle hire.

The council car park is off the A523 Leek to Ashbourne road (Map ref. SK 085501). This car park is high up above the road with a compacted stone surface, uneven in places. Pay & Display parking, free to blue badge holders. There is an accessible toilet, cycle hire and refreshment kiosk.

Access onto the trail is extremely difficult for wheelchair users (see pictures below). A steep twisting track brings you down to the roadside (A523), a very busy road which you must cross before heading east for approximately 200 yards to gain access to the Manifold Track.

PLEASE NOTE: The track down from the car park to the main road has now been re-routed and resurfaced making it much easier for wheelchair users. Pictures to follow soon!
