From Millers Dale Station

Location, parking and toilet facilities

Millers Dale Station is situated off the B6049, approximately 6 miles east of Buxton . At Millers Dale, turn off onto the minor road signposted “Wormhill” (there is also a sign for toilets and parking). 200 yards up the hill, is the Monsal Trail car park on the left.

The large car park has a level tarmac surface with 2 designated parking spaces for people with disabilities, adjacent to the station building (see picture opposite). Pay & Display car park, free to blue badge holders.

The ramp onto the station platform (picture opposite), where accessible toilets are situated in the station buildings.

Picnic tables can be found at the far end of the station platform.

The Track

Millers Dale Station heading in a westerly direction - distance ¾ mile

Heading east from Millers Dale Station.
The surface of the track is hard and compact but can be quite stony in places (see Pic. 1 below, with wheelchair wheel in view). This section is mainly tree lined but where there are gaps in the trees, there are benches to rest at ¾, 1 and 1¼ miles, giving good views of the surrounding countryside. (Pic. 2 below shows bench at side of the track). The final ¼ of a mile becomes rougher and grassier, before reaching the closed tunnel at 1½ miles.

Heading west from Millers Dale Station.
The surface of the track has a much smoother surface (see picture opposite with wheelchair wheel in view) and is much wider, approximately 10 feet in width.

Along the whole length of the track, both in an easterly and westerly direction, there is an abundance of wild flowers.
